Susan Bhagra - Principal, Roots Country School

Selecting the right educational institute for your child is a pivotal decision that impacts their growth and future success. To aid your decision, thorough research is crucial, focusing on what best suits your child’s needs.

One of your primary concerns will be to quickly grasp what Roots Country School has to offer as a coeducational, well-planned day-boarding institution. Understanding its educational essence and evaluating the accompanying co-curricular activities will be the key to your choice of action. Our prospectus provides a comprehensive insight, and I invite you to visit us during open days, and engage with parents and students who already know us well. If there are any particular matters you are keen to discuss with me, kindly feel free to make an appointment with me to clear your doubts.

In Nelson Mandela’s words, – “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Education does indeed have transformative power, fostering critical thinking and progress. It has the power to open minds, challenge perspectives, and drive positive changes in individuals. Navigating a dynamic, everchanging world, we at RCS prioritize continuous up skilling for Generation Alpha, blending advanced technology and accessibility by means of the latest software and fully equipped I.T. lab, e-library, smart-class rooms with a round-the-clock surveillance system, respecting parental concerns for safety within the campus.

ROOTS COUNTRY SCHOOL’s LEAD-powered curriculum emphasizes deep practice and timely remedial, fostering conceptual clarity. Our Learn, Explore, Apply, Develop framework empowers students to navigate their educational journey, cultivating essential skills. Our mission is to empower students to “Learn well – Think deep – Do Good – Be leaders,” intertwining real-life applications for transformative learning, leading children to become capable adults, responsible citizens, but most importantly, good human beings and visionaries.

Beyond academics, we offer a plethora of co-curricular activities that allow children to explore, experience, and conquer, channeling their energy to bring about inner awareness. We encourage grounding in values and tradition, with a focus on a child’s confident spirit, a spark of enthusiasm in the eyes, and, above all, a higher ‘Happiness Quotient.’ These qualities, we affirm, play a very significant role in holistic development. I am optimistic that you will find ‘ROOTS COUNTRY SCHOOL’ aligns well with most, if not all, your aspirations for your beloved child`s educational journey – to emerge as a person who is ignited by the ability to question everything intelligently and to find solutions to problems he or she faces.

I look forward to meeting you at ROOTS COUNTRY SCHOOL and sharing views and new possibilities with you.

Message From the Vice-Principal

Capt Divya Dahiya - Vice-Principal, Roots Country School

In the words of the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, “By education, I mean an all-round drawing out of the best in a child – body, mind and spirit”.

Roots Country School, Baghi is one of the biggest and most reputed boarding schools in Shimla District. Founded in 2003, it has established itself as one of the best co – educational boardingcum- day senior secondary school of the region that has imparted value-based education for nearly two decades. Following the footsteps of our respected founders, we at the Roots Country School, Panchkula strive to imbibe the same values in our students. Our core values are engaging students in a learning environment following deep-rooted ethics of our culture, encouraging curiosity, exploration of ideas, learning through collaboration and be empathetic towards others.

Roots Country School, Panchkula is the only day-boarding school in the region. The extended hours in the School enable students to participate in various curricular and co-curricular activities. We aim to provide personalised attention to students with their homework and class assignments. The LEAD (Leadership in Education and Development) Curriculum followed in the school adheres to the New Education Policy (NEP) where key concepts in all the subjects are taught through integrated activities. The emphasis is on clarity of concepts and not cramming. As the Vice-Principal and the Academic Coordinator, I feel proud and privileged to be a part of the Roots family. It is my endeavour that each student grows into an empowered and enlightened human being and follows the ethos of the School, ‘Mighty Trees have Deeper Roots’. May our children have Roots to Grow and Wings to Fly.
